TRAVEL SNAPSHOT
China is one of my most favorite countries that I have ever had the pleasure of traveling. As an incredibly expansive country filled with a diversity of landscapes, culture, and food, you will never run out of new experiences.
From the crazy beautiful Yellow Mountains in Huangshan, the Forbidden City of Beijing, the spicy hotpot made in Chengdu, the ice castles of Hainan, the skyscrapers of Shanghai, to the Tiger Leaping Gorge of Yunnan, China has it all.
IMPORTANT INFO
Language: The official language of China is Mandarin. However, there are many different dialects all over the country.
Currency: China national currency is the Renminbi (RMB) or Chinese yuan. Most places take international credit cards, but if you are traveling to more rural areas you should definitely carry cash.
Electric: China operates on a voltage of 220V and a standard frequency of 50 Hz. Plugs types are A, C, and I. I recommend having a universal adapter.
Safety: I never had any issues with safety or theft in China. I always felt very safe being alone. However, it is always important to take precautions, especially if you are traveling alone.
Weather: The best time to visit China is in autumn or spring with mild temperatures. Since it is such a huge country, the weather varies from from north to south.
