TRAVEL SNAPSHOT
Vietnam is a spectacular country filled with beautiful green scenery, amazing cities, delectable food, and quite a fascinating history. It is one of the best backpacker countries in Southeast Asia, a favorite of many people I know.
From the chaotic energy of Hanoi’s bustling streets, where motorbikes weave through the traffic like a choreographed dance, to the serene beauty of Ha Long Bay’s limestone karsts emerging from emerald waters, every corner of Vietnam offers a unique experience.
IMPORTANT INFO
Language: The official language of Cambodia is Khmer. It is also sometimes called Cambodian. Most locals I met spoke at least a bit of English.
Currency: Cambodia’s national currency is the Cambodia Riel (KHR). However, most places accept US dollars, so you do not need to exchange much. Most places take international credit cards, but if you are traveling to more rural areas you should definitely carry cash.
Money: Like I said, most places accept US dollars, so you do not need to exchange much unless you are not from the US. There are plenty of ATMs all over with easy access to cash.
Electric: Cambodia operates on a voltage of 230V and a standard frequency of 50 Hz. Plugs types are A, C, and G. I recommend having a universal adapter.
Safety: I never had any issues with safety or theft in Cambodia. However, it is always important to take precautions, especially if you are traveling alone.
Weather: The best time to visit Cambodia is between November to March. The weather is moderate to warm and there is not much rain.
