IMPORTANT INFO
Language: The official language of Egypt is Arabic.
Currency: Cambodia’s national currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP).
Money: There are many ATMS available around Cairo and other city centers. I definitely recommend carrying cash (especially smaller bills for tipping).
Electric: Cambodia operates on a voltage of 220V and a standard frequency of 50 Hz. Plugs types are F and C. I recommend having a universal adapter.
Safety: As a solo female traveler, I definitely felt on edge in Egypt. I recommend traveling with someone and taking care to cover up as to not drag any unwanted attention to you. Take precautions- don’t enter large crowds, don’t walk down dark alleyways by yourself, don’t take pictures of government buildings, sit in the back of taxis, be aware of scams, etc.
Weather: The best time to visit Egypt is from October to April. The weather is moderate and allows you to cover up without being unbearably hot.
